Winner ANNOUNCED FOR 2019 POSTER CONTEST

Iris Quass, 19, submitted the winning entry in Re-Tree Tecumseh's 2019 poster contest. Her entry is titled "Future in Our Hands." Quass graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2018 and has since been doing freelance art as well as commissions. She will be attending Michigan State University.
Artist Statement: I’ve always enjoyed nature in my life, ever since I was young. My mom worked outside at a perennial farm as they called it (basically an outdoor plant store). Whenever I had the chance to go to work with her, I would. Any time I can go to Hidden Lake Gardens, I go. How could I miss out on seeing such lovely flowers and trees? Recently I've gotten into gardening a bit as well, hoping to make a difference and save some bees in the process. I decided to enter the contest because I really like the cause. Trees are so important, now more than ever. Our little town would just look so lovely with more trees. This painting was done online in the program Paint Tool Sai; editing was done in Clip Studio Paint.
