TECUMSEH'S TREE TREASURES
Join the hunt! Re-Tree Tecumseh is requesting residents’ help to locate our town’s most significant trees – Tecumseh’s Tree Treasures.
We’re fortunate to be surrounded by mature trees here. Many of them can be considered noteworthy in some way – the largest example of its species, or a rare variety, or one that is unusually picturesque. Re-Tree Tecumseh wants to identify these special trees in honor of Earth Week (April 20–24), because trees make the world a healthier, more beautiful place.
It’s easy to help! Simply submit a photo of your favorite tree through our website, on Facebook, or on Instagram. RTT will document the tree, take its measurements, and include it in an upcoming booklet with botanical facts and interesting tidbits about its species.
The guidelines are simple:
-Trees must be located in or around Tecumseh.
-You can nominate your tree, someone else’s tree, or a public tree.
-If you don’t know its species, RTT experts can identify it for you.
-Photos will be shared on social media and on our website.
