Donate to help us plant trees in Tecumseh!
All trees will be planted in public spaces or city right-of-ways.
Our first priority is re-treeing the North Evans Street corridor, bordering River Acres subdivision. Nearly 100 trees are needed there to replace the 50- to 60-year-old crabapples that were recently removed; also, many similar trees border the east side of that area that will eventually need to be replaced. We plan to install a variety of flowering species including dogwood, redbud, crabapples, and serviceberries. It will take nearly 100 trees for just the area between Burt Street and the north entrance to Red Mill Drive, at an estimated cost of $175–$200 each.
The City of Tecumseh is supporting our efforts by removing stumps of the old trees on North Evans, digging the planting holes, and providing mulch and watering for the new trees. But the city can't assist financially. That's why we need your help with this expensive, multi-year project.
